Liven Up Your Wine Tasting Gig
With Home Party Games
Wine-tasting parties are the best way to introduce your products and services to your target clientele. Just like any party, you will want to liven up things a-plenty so as to sustain your guests' interests and there is no better way to do that than by conducting home party games.
These party games are obviously geared toward an adult audience so you can naughty in your ideas. You should also ensure that the order of these games is well-spaced to allow your guests to relax and just enjoy the wines being presented to them. Keep in mind that you are selling the wines, not the games.
Trivia Game
In addition to tasting the wines, your guests will appreciate interesting trivia about the wines they are enjoying and possibly ordering and selling after the party. You can start the home party games with a trivia game related to wines and their history.
You have two ways to go about a trivia game. First, you can divide the guests into two groups with each group assigning a leader who will come forward with the answer. Second, you can place note cards with the trivia questions on the tables - one note card for each guest - and then let them answer the question. The group or individual with the most correct answers is the winner and will receive a bottle of the finest wine in your catalogue.
Your questions can include the most expensive wine; the oldest wine; the number of grapes it takes to make one bottle of wine; and the number of varieties of grapes used for making wine. You may have to research your questions and answers but therein is the fun.
Gourmet Wine Guesser Game
No list of home party games will be complete without a Guess the Wine game. Your guests will enjoy tasting the wine and then identifying which is which. You may even have a wine lover extraordinaire in your midst that will prove an asset to your network. This is a simple game, too. Select at least 4 different bottles of wine and then place each one inside a colored bag. The participants must not be able to see the name of the wine.
Then, give the participants a pen and paper. Let them taste each wine via their own wine glasses and then jot down notes about the wines - color, aroma and taste. Under the notes for each wine, ask the participants to write down the name of the wine. The participant with the most correct answer wins the prize of - you guessed it - a bottle of wine.
Name That Cheese Game
This is a variation to one of the most the popular home party games - name that wine, of course. In the Name That Cheese game, each participant will taste slices of cheese and then name the variety. To add more excitement, you can also pair the cheese with the wine and then ask the participants to name both. Your guests will also be educated on the best pairings between these two delightful food items.
Home party games can be tools to educate your guests of your wine-tasting party. When coupled with the enjoyment of the games, you have a winner in your hands.
